500 Mile Journey As the snow begins to melt and the Spring sun comes out Kerry and I are back to training for this years 5k races.  Our first race will be in Idaho Falls the end of April.  Paces for Payton  https://www.pacesforpayton.org/ This is the very first race I walked after my knee surgery. Back then I signed up for the 1 mile and believe me I felt very accomplished to walk the 1 mile.  Years later Kerry and I have signed up and walked nearly 10 races.  We usually do 3-5 each year and they are mostly destination events for us. 500 Mile Walking Journey with Kerry and Jean  Hello from Kerry Hello from Jean  We are so close to our 50 miles!!! But not today! Today we went for a hike up the Lamoille Canyon in Nevada.  We had to get out early in the day  because today we had a   weather alert   about thunderer storms for this afternoon.  Today's hike was all about  flowers and waterfalls. We tracked 1.9 miles today and will have less then a mile for tomorrows goal. Our second goal is walking 50 miles on this journey. Yes come back for our 50 mile celebration,  you wont want to miss where we go tomorrow. Kerry  took this time to explain about glaciers in this area. 500 Mile Walking Journey-Rest Day

500 Mile Walking Journey with  Kerry and Jean  Let's Get Walking!  Kerry and Jean those crazy walkers Red Flag Day!! Today was suppose to be a walking day. But instead Kerry is home with sore feet and back.  Some days are like that for us.  It's ok because we understand that the body sometimes needs rest.  This brings me to today's topic. How do you know when you have over done your routine and when is it time to take a break.?  Listen to your body.  If something is hurting more then just being sore, rest.  If is doesn't get better see your doctor.  Years ago I got plantar fasciitis , one of the most painful injuries I've had.  I had it in both feet and had to stay off them for a whole season of 5K's .
