500 Mile Journey As the snow begins to melt and the Spring sun comes out Kerry and I are back to training for this years 5k races. Our first race will be in Idaho Falls the end of April. Paces for Payton https://www.pacesforpayton.org/ This is the very first race I walked after my knee surgery. Back then I signed up for the 1 mile and believe me I felt very accomplished to walk the 1 mile. Years later Kerry and I have signed up and walked nearly 10 races. We usually do 3-5 each year and they are mostly destination events for us. That way we have a little vacation and help the community too. I have designed Walking Journey T-Shirts to help me stay motivated. Please visit my online store. Both women and men shirts https://www.zazzle.com/collections/walking_journey_t_shirts-119561391246098934?rf=238392465965343686
500 Mile Journey with Kerry and Jean Let's Get Walking! We did it!!100 miles walking. We thought that we should do something big for this milestone. It has been so hot here that we decided we needed to go to the beach. We went to Ft. Bragg, CA. On our first night we found this wonderful Italian restaurant. It was the perfect place to celebrate and open our gift.
For reaching 100 miles we each got a key chain with little walking shoes. It was a great trip and we stayed 3 days at the beach. More pictures of our adventure to come. Lets Get Walking,Kerry and Jean

The first days of the walk were the hardest for me. I got blisters, sunburned, and my lower back and hips were sore. My body wasn't use to walking 3 miles everyday. We decided to stick close to home for the first week, just walking around our neighborhood. We walked around the Spring Creek Marina because its close, flat, and, it also is a wonderful place to see the migrating birds. Later we added a bit of an incline with walking up the hill for breakfast at JJ's and picking up our mail on the way home. A 3 mile walk for us will take us an hour, sometimes longer if we stop for photo's and water.
This is a journey, not a race. Time only matter when we are racing the 5K's. Take time to relax in nature, en…
