500 Mile Walking JourneyWelcome What do you do when you are retired? You WALK!!, You HIKE!!!, You do 5K's . That's what this blog is all about. I have always wanted to go to Spain and walk the Camino de Santiago. I'm not sure if I will ever get there, but if I do this is going to be a great way to train for it. My husband recently retired and has agreed to walk 500 miles with me. We live in Northeastern Nevada, it's beautiful with open landscapes, mountains, lakes, and we experience all four seasons here. I don't know how long this journey will take, but we're up for the challenge. Visit us often and see how we're doing on our 500 Mile Walking Journey.
We have only just begun and the journey will be filled with lots of wonderful stories. Share this blog with friends and create your own walking journey. Comment, like and share in the comments. We would love to create a walking community with like minded people. Be Inspired, Jean
500 Mile Walking Journey with Kerry and Jean Let's Get Walking! "All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking."Fredrick Nutzsche What a week we have had! While Kerry and I walk, we talk! It's a great way of sharing our thoughts and bouncing of new ideas off each other. We are so very close again to our next milestone of 75 miles. Soooo, we're planning something really cool for next weeks celebration.
This week we kept close to home with our usual walk around the marina. Occasionally, we get lucky and see a big bird fly by, like when we caught the pelican taking off.
Spring Creek Marina is getting ready for their 4th of July celebration.
They're offering a Freedom 5K walk early in the morning on the 4th with a pancake breakfast. Of Course Kerry and I signed up!
We will be walking over to the Marina before the race and hanging around for all the fun activities.
It's going to be a big mile day for us. Happ…
500 Mile Walking Journey with Kerry and Jean Let's Get Walking! It's Progress Report Time After returning from our 5k in Rexburg last week, we spent the next week preparing for company. We went to the California Trail Center. We walked around their outdoor exhibits, inside the museum. Kerry and I checked out a dirt trail we will be doing in the future. http://www.californiatrailcenter.org/ This week we only managed one walk around the Spring Creek Marina. Kerry's new trash picker upper has come in, he now picks up trash on our walks. It's amazing how much trash he picks up everyday!! We are so close to our 50 mile goal.
Where would we be if we were doing the
Camino de Santiago walk in Spain.
If I were to walk this path, I would start in France, and do the French Way.
